Mary E. Murano, passed away on Thursday, at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford, after a extended illness, the wife of Raymond S. Murano.
Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Giuseppina (Servodio) and Joseph DeNicola, she was a graduate Medford High Scholl and a lifelong Medford resident. Mrs. Murano devoted herself to raising her family and in recent years greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Active in her community she was a past president of the Kennedy-Lincoln PTA and a volunteer for the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Mary retired from the Department of Public Welfare where she worked for many years. She also enjoyed working for her two sons in there local practice in Medford after her retirement.
Surviving in addition to her husband Ray are two sons, Dr. Raymond Murano Jr. and his wife Sharon of Winchester and Dr. Joseph Murano and his wife Barbara of Medford. Three grandchildren; Raymond III, Jaclyn and Joseph II. Three sisters in law; Florence DeNicola of Fl., Rose DeNicola of Saugus, and Florence Lessard of NH., and a niece Joanne Baughman of Saugus. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Cosmo and Salvatore DeNicola.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, on Saturday, May 10, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with entombment in Holy Cross Community Mausoleum, Malden.Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted.
