JAKUSIAK, Marianne- Of Chelsea, December 27th. Devoted daughter of Helen F. (Zajac) of Chelsea and the late Alexander Jakusiak. Beloved sister of Bernadette Hockney of Stratham, New Hampshire and Marceline "Marcia" Aloi and her husband Frederick of Newbury. Also lovingly survived by her aunt Helene Jakusiak as well as many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Tuesday, December 30th at 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Stanislaus Church, 163 Chestnut Street, CHELSEA at 12 Noon. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Late 42 year employee of the New England Telephone Co. and member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. A lifelong Chelsea resident, Marianne, at 78 years of age, passed away at Eastpointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Central Avenue where for the last month she had been receiving supportive during her brief but courageous battle with cancer. When she began her career with the New England Telephone Company in 1948 she started as a telephone operator. In the many decades that followed ,she continued with each change in the ownership until she retired in 1990 from the Marketing Department for Nynex.
