Gerard J Gagnon, age 66, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008 at Mass General
Hospital in Boston after a long illness.
He was born in Lowell on Nov. 13, 1942, a son of the late Emile and Beatrice (Cloutier) Gagnon.
Prior to his retirement, Gerry was employed with Basbanes Laundry Service in Lowell for 20 years and also with Lowell General Hospital for 10 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and woodworking.
He is survived by three sons, David Gagnon of Billerica, Todd Gagnon of Shirley and Jason Gagnon of Albany, NY; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Theresa and Phillip Fryns of Lowell, Priscilla Dumont and her fiancee, Ralph Zwicker of Hampton Beach, NH, and Linda and John McMenimen of Lowell; also many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Michael Gagnon, brother of the late Raymond, Lucien, Eugene, Robert and Leo Gagnon, and former husband of the late Lorraine (Pelletier) Gagnon.
There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a prayer service on Tuesday morning, Dec. 30, at 10 o'clock at the Chapel of St. Joseph Cemetery. Interment to follow.
