Barbara E. (Jones) Esterly, 85, of Bellingham, and a former longtime Franklin resident, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at Milford Regional Medical Center, following an extended period of failing health. She was the wife of Richard H. Esterly Sr., who died in 1991.
Born in Franklin, April 13, 1923, a daughter of the late George W. and Ethel J. (Conway) Jones, she was raised and educated in Franklin and was a 1941 graduate of Franklin High School.
For more than 25 years, until retiring, Mrs. Esterly worked for the Franklin Public Schools as a cafeteria worker.
She is survived by two sons, Richard H. Esterly Jr. of Bellingham, Steven A. Esterly and his wife, Aura E. Esterly of Providence, R.I.; a daughter, Pamela J. Cybulski and her husband, David, of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Allen and Michael Beaupre, Jared and Jacob Esterly, Kyle, Luke and Zachary Cypulski.
She was the mother of the late Sally Ann Beaupre and sister of the late Nancy Jones and Dorothy King.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Monday, at 10:30 a.m., from Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St., www.franklinfuneral.com, with a funeral service in Franklin United Methodist Church, 82 West Central St., Franklin, at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow in Union Street Cemetery.
