Obituary

Olive “Jean” Wennemer died peacefully at home on Christmas morning at the age of 81. Jean was a strong, independent, caring, and supportive woman. She was a source of strength during difficult times and laughter during happy times. She demanded honesty and kept her family warm in her hand-knit sweaters. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and we will miss Nana with all of our hearts. Born to Charles and Julia (Bunnell) Mesheau in Norwell, she attended Norwell schools and Chelsea Memorial Hospital Nursing School. She was the owner/operator of Jones River Nursing Home in Kingston from 1964 to 1984. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Wennemer Jr., mother of Jay Wennemer of Plymouth, Gail Wennemer of Kingston, and the late Sharyn Payea. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jodie Wennemer, Heidi Wennemer and her husband Jimmy; her great grandchildren, Joseph, Clover and Mason Wennemer; her brothers, Charles Ronald Mesheau and Jack Mesheau; many nieces and nephews; her sister-in-law Shirley Mesheau; and her brother-in-law Warren Magnusson. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 28th from 2-4 pm at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St., N. Plymouth. Services and interment will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to the Vista-Care Hospice Foundation, 690 Canton St. Suite 220, Westwood, MA 02090 or to New England Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America, 1600 Providence Highway, Suite 161 R, Walpole, MA 02081.
