Mrs. Mary E. (Davis) Neville, of Taunton died Wednesday, December 24 in Morton
Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Richard H. Neville. She
was born 88 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Roy A. and Mary L. (Beattie)
Davis. She was educated in Taunton, having graduated from Taunton High School in
1938, and was also a graduate of the former Forsyth Dental School. Mrs. Neville had
formerly been employed as a Dental Nurse for the City of Taunton School System for a
number of years. She was a member of the former St. Paul’s Church Choir, St. Paul’s
Parish Council of Catholic Women, the Westside Senior Citizens Club and was a leader
of the Plymouth Bay Council of Girl Scouts and Brownies She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a communicant of the former St. Paul’s Church.
She leaves:
3 daughters: Rosemary Bettencourt, and her husband Ronald, of Taunton
Diane Martin, and her husband, Joseph of Taunton
Carolyn Pearson, and her husband, Edward of Taunton
5 grandchildren: Jeffrey Martin, Christine Strawbridge, Julie Pearson, Jean Pearson
and Jennifer Pearson

Mrs. Neville was also the sister of the late Charlotte L. Davis, Anna Nadeau, Harriet
Woodward, Caroline Woodward, George Davis, Roy Davis and Lincoln Davis.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street,
Taunton, on Monday, December 29 at 8:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, (formerly St. Paul’s Church, 261 Tremont St., Taunton) at 9:30 A.M. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Relatives and friends are in- vited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Life Care Center
