Elizabeth Maxine Jones Tharpe, 74, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. She was born February 23, 1934 to the late Alvin Leon and Birdie Elizabeth Gardner Jones in Coffeeville, MS. She was a homemaker and a member of Elam Baptist Church in Coffeeville, MS.
Mrs. Tharpe is survived by her sons, Alvin Tharpe of Water Valley, MS and Carlton Ray Tharpe of Thibodaux, LA; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.
A private memorial will be held by her family in Elam Cemetery in Coffeeville, MS.
