METHUEN – Robert J. Ouellette, Sr. age 85 died peacefully Monday December 22, 2008 at Caritas Holy Family Hospital. A long time Methuen resident , he had been a resident of the Methuen Health and Rehabilitation Center for the past 6 months.
Born and raised in Lawrence son of the late Vitale and Aurore Ouellette, he attended St. Anne’s School. For many years he worked as a home delivery bread salesman for Bond Bread and Cushman Bakery. He was a member of the N.E. Teamsters and retired from Bay View Foods. He was a parishioner of St. Monica’s Church in Methuen, was a member of the Methuen Knights of Columbus and also the Lawrence Elks.
He enjoyed bowling, playing cards especially 45’s with his brothers and having fun with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also had a fondness for cats.
He leaves his wife of 63 years Norma B. (Dyson) Ouellette of Methuen and his survived by his son and daughter, Robert J. Ouellette, Jr. of Methuen and Denise Sullivan and her husband Jeffrey of Salem, NH.
2 brothers Leo Ouellette and wife Terry of Barefoot Bay, Florida and Ronald Ouellette of Methuen.
2 sisters Irene Griffen of Venice, Florida and Lorraine Cooper and her husband George also of Venice, Florida.
Granddaughters Jennifer (Sullivan) and her husband Eugene Crane III, Kimberlee (Sullivan) and her husband Christopher Simpson
4 great-grandchildren Hannah, Matthew, Benjamin and Nicholas Crane.
Several nieces and nephews and also his cat Demi.
Robert was predeceased by brothers Armand, Rene and Albert Ouellette and sisters Lucille DiZoglio, Anita Breton and Cecile Marchand.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Sunday from 3:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9:00a.m. at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen with burial to follow in the Elmwood Cemetery also in Methuen.
