Paul Raymond Normand Sr., 65, of New Boston, NH, died December 18, 2008 at the Elliot Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Manchester on October 19, 1943, the son of Marcel and Cecile (Auger) Normand. He was educated in the local school system and attended Manchester West High.
Most recently, he had been the owner and operator of Chez Vachon Restaurant in Manchester. He was very dedicated to his work and was successful in building one on the city’s most recognized restaurants. Previously, he had been employed by J.F. McElwain, Felton Brush, JJ Nissen Bread Company, Roger’s Uniforms, Schonland’s Foods, and delivered milk for HP Hood.
A very innovative man, he will be remembered for his generous spirit and willingness to help others. He loved boating and spending time with his dogs.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5260.
Members of his family include his sons, Paul R. Normand Jr., Daniel Lachance and Gregory Lachance; daughter, Debra-Lee Normand; daughter-in-laws, Sylvie Normand and Jessica Lachance; his grandchildren, Ryan Normand, Courtney Normand, Samuel Lachance, Lily Lachance, and Lauren Lachance; two brothers, Roger Normand and Gerry Normand; nephews, nieces, and cousins. He is predeceased by Diane L. Normand in 2002 and survived by a former wife Dorothy-Ann Caron.
After cremation, urn burial took place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd, Manchester, at the family’s convenience.
