Andrew “Pete” Teems, 86, of Fitzgerald died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at the Fitzgerald Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, December 21 at the Christian Tabernacle with Rev. Earlie Holt and Rev. David Biggers officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Teems was born May 19, 1922 in Summerville, Georgia to the late Fred V. and Mandy Victoria Evans Teems. He was a logger and a former resident of Milan, GA. Mr. Teems was a member of the Christian Tabernacle.
He is survived by his children, Kathaleen T. Fish of Fitzgerald, Edward Leroy (Hilda) Teems of Trion and Barbara (Elva) Newsome of Summerville; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; brother, Arnold (Joyce) Teems of Summerville as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Reuben Fish.
