Vlasta Faldyn Vaclavik, age 89, passed away on December 16, 2008. She was born on October 18, 1919 to parents, Joseph Faldyn and Mary (Zatopek) Faldyn in Ellinger, Texas.
She was a housewife and she enjoyed spending time with her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Vlasta Faldyn Vaclavik is survived by her daughter, Dolores Perry and her husband, David of Plum; four brothers, Allen Faldyn Sr. of La Grange, Johnnie Faldyn of Smithville, Jerry Faldyn of Columbus and Edward Faldyn of Columbus; two sisters, Georgie Belota of Plum and Lillian Zapalac of Ellinger; three grandchildren, Kent Robert Lycka and his wife Gina of Boerne, Timothy J. Lycka and his wife Kelly of Katy, and Melissa M. Stoddard and her husband Carl Lee of Pearland; along with eight great-grandchildren, Alexandra Lycka, Kent Robert Lycka, Kade Lycka, Konnor Lycka, Logan Lycka, Mackenzie Lycka, Victoria Stoddard and Ryan Stoddard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Vaclavik; her parents, Joseph and Mary (Zatopek) Faldyn, three brothers, George, Wilbert and Joe Faldyn, Jr.; one sister, Isabelle Faldyn and mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Anna (Kovar) Vaclavik.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, December 18, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening.
A Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, prior to the funeral service at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Plum, Texas. Msgr. Stanley J. Petru, Father Joseph Kariuke and Deacon John McCourt will officiate at the service. Interment will be in the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Plum.
