Patricia Ann Nevils, 77 of Irving Street, Mystic Ct died on Saturday May 3rd, 2003 at her home.
She was born in St Albans VT on July 5th,the daughter of the late Henry and Margret Callaghan. She was the wife of the recently deceased William Henry Nevils for 51 years.
Patricia graduated from the Bishop DeGoesbriand Hospital School of Nursing, in Burlington VT and recieved a degree in hospital/nursing administration from St Joseph’s College in ME. After moving to Mystic she worked as a nurse at Westerly Hospital from 1965 to 1987.
A devout catholic she was very much involved in the faith community at St Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church in Groton. She was theTreasurer of the Our lady’s Guild St Mary Mother Redeemer and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Throughout her life she was an volunteer for many causes; from working at the local blood bank to literacy volunteers. Most recently she was involved with the SeniorNet Computer Learning Center and secretary for SNUG.
She is survived by her daughter MaryAnn Martinez and three grand children Matthew, Jasmine and Jonathan.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 69 Groton Long Point Road, Groton on Thursday at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Old Mystic. There are no visiting hours.
