Cecilia (Motta) Walmsley, age 81. The beloved wife of Thomas A. Walmsley Sr. and daughter of the late Joseph Motta Sr. & Cecilia (Alves) Motta, passed away December 16, 2008. Born in Fall River, she lived in Swansea for forty years.
Besides her husband of Swansea, she is survived by 4 Children: Thomas Walmsley Jr. and wife Cynthia of Assonet, Sharron Souza and husband Robert of Swansea, Donna DaCosta and husband Manuel of Somerset, and Kevin Walmsley and wife Jane of Swansea. 2 Siblings: Joseph Motta Jr. of Florida, and Rosalyn Medeiros of Westport. 9 Grandchildren: Shayne, Lori, Jason, Jared, Judd, Mandee, Marc, Becki, and Kati. 10 Great Grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. She was also the grandmother of the late Seth DaCosta and twins Justin & Jeremy Souza, and sister of the late Lorraine Davis, Thomas Motta, Henry Motta, and John Motta Sr.
Before retiring she was the matron at Case High School where “Ma Walmsley” created an environment where she was loved by faculty, staff & all “her kids”. She was an extraordinary cook, kept an amazing home and will always be remembered as our family loving, fun loving, kind and giving “Aunt Cil”, “Tia”, “Nana” and “Mom”.
Her funeral services will take place in the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 No. Main St. Saturday at 9:30 A.M. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation Saturday morning 8:30A.M. to 9:30A.M.
