Joe Islas, 90, Clarksville, died Sunday, December 15, 2008, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Rev. Steve Lannom officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born March 17, 1918 in Montgomery County. Joe was retired from the US Army Airborne division and served in Vietnam. Survivors include his wife, Florence Adams Islas; a son Joey Islas, Bowling Green, KY; and a daughter, Patricia Islas, Germany. Members of the military will serve as pallbearers.
