Fraley, James Walter

James Walter Fraley, 65, of Ravenel, husband of 41 years to Jane Evelyn Fraley, died Thursday, December 11, 2008 at his residence.

Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 10 o’clock at Calvary Baptist Church, Meggett, SC. Burial will follow at Beaufort National Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 o’clock.

Mr. Fraley was born October 22, 1943, in Bristol, VA, son of the late James Dallas Fraley and Nellie Tester Fraley of Bristol, VA. He graduated from Virginia High School and served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. He was a Golden Glove Boxer, enjoyed fishing, sitting in his garage listening to country music and sipping a “cold one”. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors, including his wife, Jane and mother Nellie, are three sons; James “Eric” Fraley, Sr. (Jennifer) of Charleston, SC, Michael Fraley (Shannon) of Ravenel, and Richard Morelock of Ravenel; one brother; Larry Fraley (Sandy) of Ft. Worth, TX, two sisters; Linda Carlton of Ft. Worth, TX and Patricia Johnson (Wayne) of Bristol, VA, grandchildren; James “Jamie” Fraley, Jr., Dakota “Cody” Fraley, Michael “Tony” Fraley, Darien Fraley, Maurrissa Fraley, Jessica Carter, Chelsea Blackstock and Edward “Jeremery” Smith. He was predeceased by a sister; Marie Hodge.
