Obituary

Mary Bridget (Cogavin) Keane, 91, of Walpole died December 12 at her home. She was the wife of the late John J. Keane who died in 1977.
Born in Ballinasloe, Ireland October 3, 1917, the daughter of the late Stephen and Catherine (Tevlin) Cogavin, Mrs. Keane was raised in Ireland and had come to America in 1938.
She lived in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston for many years before moving to Walpole 27 years ago.
Mrs. Keane had been the cook at Blessed Sacrament Rectory for 10 years before retiring.
She had previously worked in the Downtown Crossing Section of Boston in Retail and in Kenmore Square as a seamstress.
Mrs. Keane loved to knit and to cook.
She is survived by her children, Maureen Dwyer of Walpole, John Keane of Walpole and Nancy Campbell and her husband, Peter of Duxbury.
She is also survived by her sister, Kitty O’Grady of Ireland and was the sister of the late Michael John Cogavin.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, John Stephen Dwyer of Boston, Daniel Francis Dwyer and Shannon Dwyer of Walpole, Heather Campbell of Rockland, Jennifer Campbell of Duxbury and John Justin Keane of Columbus, GA.
She was the great-grandmother of John and Trenton Keane.
She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews in Ireland.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 15 from the Ginley Funeral Home 892 Main St., Walpole at 8:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in Blessed Sacrament Church at 9:00 a.m.
Burial will be in New Calvary Cemetery in Boston.
Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
