SPENCER: Lionel A. Aucoin,96, of 49 Chestnut St., died Thursday, Dec. 11 at Life Care Center of Auburn.
He was the husband of Irene B. (Collette) Aucoin who died in 1989. He leaves a son Ronald J. Aucoin and a daughter Suzanne M. Hanson and her husband Robert all of Spencer, four grand children Kristian Hanson and his wife Christine of Paxton, Nels Hanson and his fiance Suzanne Murphy of Mystic, Ct., Matthew Hanson and his wife Lisa of Bellingham, and Amy Hanson and her fiance Paul Brower of Auburn, five great grandsons Aidan, Noah, Jake, Tristan and Corey, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by brothers Herve and Harold Aucoin.
Mr. Aucoin was a licensed insurance agent and owned and operated Aucoin Bros. Insurance in Spencer for 35 years, before retiring in 1973. At onetime he also was a real estate agent.
Born in Spencer, he was the son of Frank and Rose (Lamoureux) Aucoin. He graduated from David Prouty High School and Becker Business College in Worcester.
He loved music and was a saxophone player and stamp collector. He was a member of Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish and Spencer Chapter of A.A.R. P.
The funeral will be held on Monday, Dec. 15 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Calling hours will precede the funeral on Monday from 8:30 to 9:30a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Life Care Center of Auburn Patient Activity Account, 14 Masonic Circle, Auburn, Ma. 01501.
