Evans, GA – Mr. Robert C. Folger Sr., 38, entered into rest on Monday December 8, 2008 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday December 13, 2008 at Providence Baptist Church with Dr. Donald C. Prosser officiating and Rev. Russell Folger assisting. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service.
Chris was employed at Westinghouse as Fire Coordinator and was a member of Asbestos Local 92 in Columbia, SC. His favorite pastime was singing Elvis songs. Chris held a special bond and love for his children, mother, sister, brother, and father. He was a Christian, believing in the faith, our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God.
Survivors include his loving and devoted mother, Carolyn Avera Stevens and husband James of Augusta, GA, his loving and devoted father, Bobby G. Folger of Thomson, GA, one son, Robert C. Folger Jr. of Evans, GA, one daughter, Shelby E. Folger of North Augusta, SC, one brother, Kevin N. Folger and wife Tabitha and children Tyler, Preston, and Jacob Folger all of Nebo, NC, one sister, Heather N. Todd and husband Brian and child Tiffany Todd all of Evans, GA, his maternal aunt, Patricia Glover of Augusta and children Tonya, Becky, Susan, and Tony, his maternal uncle, Randy Avera of Atlanta, GA, paternal uncle, Ralph E. Folger Jr. of Augusta, GA, and children Ralph E. Folger III and Russell Folger, his paternal aunt, Rosemary Tenney and husband Paul of Grovetown, GA, and children Jennifer and Melanie, his great aunt, Lou Ella Wyatt of Tampa, FL. Chris was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Clara Jo Lee Avera, his maternal great grandmother, Leafie T. Lee, his paternal grandmother, Darah J. Folger, and his nephew, Brian James Todd Jr..
Pallbearers will be Brian Todd, Kevin Folger, Randy Avera, Ralph Folger Jr., Chris Owens, and Robbie Folger.
The family will receive friends on Friday December 12, 2008 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
