Nancy Grimes, 72, of Ledge Road, Chester, NH died Sunday April 27, 2003 at the Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, MA. She was born on February 25, 1931 in Bermuda, a daughter of the late Luther N. and Eola W. (Niles) Grimes. She was a lifelong resident of Chester. She was employed for many years as the Title 9 supervisor for the State of New Hampshire. She was a strong supporter of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). She was an avid gardener and birdwatcher and was a member of the Audubon Society of New Hampshire. She was predeceased by one daughter Keturah MacArthur in 1979.
She is survived by one daughter, Manderley MacArthur, Cambridge, MA, one son Duncan MacArthur, Cambridge, MA, three grandchildren, Miekka MacArthur, Sienna MacArthur, Harry MacArthur, one sister, Tammy Grimes, Chester, NH and New York City, NY, one brother, Nick Grimes, Texas, and one niece.
There will be no calling hours. A Memorial service will be held Saturday May 24th at 2:00 at the Chester Congregational Baptist Church, Chester St., Chester. The burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Audubon Society of New Hampshire, 3 Silk Farm Road, Concord, NH 03301.
