Methuen, MA – Janet E. (Collins) Kenney, 87, died Wednesday December 10, 2008 at the Mary Immaculate Nursing and Healthcare Services of Lawrence.
Born in Methuen, she was the daughter of Charles and Lucy (Caswell) Collins. Mrs. Kenney was a graduate of the Edward F. Searles High School in Methuen class of 1938 and graduated from the Wilfred Beauty Academy in Boston.
Janet was a Congregant of United Riverside Congregational Church in Lawrence.
She enjoyed floral arranging, and arts and crafts. She had an amazing memory for jokes, and was known for telling humorous stories.
Mrs. Kenney was the widow of Thomas L. Kenney.
She is survived by children Peter C. and his wife Suzanne Kenney of Ashland, MA, Paul T. Kenney of Methuen, daughter’s Ellen Kenney of Lawrence and Jean and her husband Andres Rodriguez of Tucson, Arizona. Survivors also include grandchildren; Leigh, Gail, Thomas, Andres, and Sarah. One greatgrandson Dillon as well as many nieces and nephews.
Her predeceased siblings include; Donald, Robert, John, and Charles Collins, and Eunice Roddy, Mary Zaccari, and Alfred Collins.
Mrs. Kenney’s funeral services will take place on Saturday morning at 10 o’clock from the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Friends are invited to calling hours on Friday from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
