Obituary

James Albert Fontaine, of Davenport, FL, formerly of Plymouth passed away on November 23rd at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Sandra (Howe) Fontaine. Father of Paul J. Fontaine and his wife Marie, Robert M. Fontaine and his wife Cheryl and Douglas H. Fontaine and his wife Jeannette all of Plymouth and Richard A. Fontaine and his wife Lori of Lakeland, FL and his grandchildren Jeffrey, Kyle, Alexander, Jake, Richard Jr, and Katherine Fontaine, Jessica Fontaine-Bennett, and Joseph and Matthew Stahmer. He was brother of Marie Campeau of N. Ft. Meyers, FL and the late George O. and Leo J. Fontaine. Born in Plymouth to the late Orie A. and Rose D. (Seiwer) Fontaine, he graduated from Plymouth High School in 1948 and became a self-employed barber. James served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a past master of the Plymouth Lodge AF & AM, past member of the Samoset Chapter, American Legion Post 40, Plymouth Rotary Club and life member of the Plymouth Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed golfing and gardening. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, December 15th at 11 o’clock at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 14th from 7-9 pm at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St., N. Plymouth. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Plymouth Lodge AF & AM, PO Box 1775, Plymouth, MA 02362 or to the American Cancer Society – Plymouth Unit, 1115 W.
