Obituary

LOWELL—Antonio Fontanez, 56 years old, a resident of Lowell for many years, died Friday morning, November 28th, at his residence after a long battle with cancer. He was the husband of Antonia (Ferrer) Fontanez, who survives him.

He was born in Comerio, Puerto Rico, on June 16, 1952, a son of the late Ruperto and Maria Luisa (Perez) Fontanez,, and was educated in Puerto Rico. He moved to the Lowell area 25 years ago, and had been employed as a Mechanic and Construction Worker in the Lowell area.

Surviving him besides his wife are a three sons: Jose, Antonio and Javier Fontanez; four daughters: Madeline Ramos, Margarita Lopez, Vanessa Fontanez, and Veronica Fontanez; brothers and sisters: Angel Luis, Rafael, Anibal, Juan, Roberto, Carlos, Danilo, Elis, Lidia, Ady, Cachy, Aleja, Margarita and Luis Angel Fontanez; eleven grandchildren: Chrisitan, Anthonie, Omar, Payton, Madelaine, Kiana, Orly, Edriel, Analice, Rubilynn, and Marayha; also many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, December 4th, at the MAHONEY FUNAERL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). His Funeral Mass to be offered Friday, December 5th, at 10 AM at ST. PATRICK’S CHURCH, Lowell. Burial in the Westlawn Cemetery.
