Obituary

Jane (Dobek) Krudys, 87, of Fall River passed away Monday, December 1, 2008 at Sarah Brayton Nursing Care Center in Fall River after a long illness. She was wife of the late Louis T. Krudys.

Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Antoni and Zofia (Dyl) Dobek, she was a lifelong resident of Fall River. She was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee high School Class of 1939. Mrs. Krudys worked at the Firestone Rubber Plant in Fall River during WWII and later for many years at Woods Bakery on Stafford Rd. in Fall River. A Communicant of Blessed Trinity Polish National Church, Fall River, she along with her husband Louis were deeply involved in the church’s organizations and planning events for them. She belonged to the Maria Konopnicka Society, Holy Rosary Society, St. Cecelia‘s Choir and was a Past Member of the Parish Committee and they also served on many church officer and church financial positions throughout the years that they belonged. She spent countless hours towards the preparation of pierogi, chrust making and cooking church dinners. They also enjoyed traveling to Poland and buying Polish artifacts which they proudly displayed at their home.

Survivors include a son: Donald T. Krudys and his wife Frances (Zembo) of Westport; a brother: Joseph Dobek of Bristol, CT; 2 grandchildren: Elizabeth I. Krudys of Boston and Westport and Peter T. Krudys of Westport; and several nieces and nephews.

She was sister of the late Edward, Frank and Stanley Dobek.

Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Blessed Trinity Polish National Church, Fall River at 11:00 A.M.

Visitation will be from 9 - 10:00 A.M. Thursday, prior to the Mass at the Potter Funeral Home.

Interment in North Burial Grounds, Fall River.
