DRACUT—Amanda S. Rondeau, 6 years old, daughter of Donald L. and Nancy (Machado) Rondeau, of Dracut, died Monday afternoon at her home, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Lowell, on June 4, 1996. She was a first grade student at the Brookside Elementary School, in Dracut.
Amanda played for Dracut Youth Soccer. She was a volunteer for the Lowell Festival Foundation during their Annual Lowell Folk Festival. She loved her Barbie dolls and her favorite cartoon character Scoobie Doo.
In additions to her parents she is survived by a brother: Andrew T. Rondeau, of Dracut; her maternal grandmother: Eileen Machado, of Dracut; her paternal grandparents: Gerard and Germaine Rondeau, of Lowell; aunts and uncles: Susan and Dan Hogan, of Hollis, NH; Gayle and Derek Burnham, of Lowell; Jerry and Kathy Rondeau, of Lowell; Paul and Karen Rondeau, of Salem, NH; Patty and Russell Sheehan, of Lowell; cousins: Connor and Ryan Hogan, of Hollis, NH; Cassandra and Becky Rondeau, Brandon and Matthew Sheehan, all of Lowell; her great aunts and uncles: Archie Arcand, of Dracut; Kenny and Priscilla Page, Dennis and Francine Richards, and Armand and Sylvia Lagasse, all of New Hampshire; and her best friend: Marissa Jefferson, of Lowell.
She was also the granddaughter of the late John R. Machado and great niece of the late Donna Arcand, both whom died in 2001.
Friends may call on Thursday, May 1st, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38), from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Her Funeral Mass to be offered Friday, May 2nd, at 10 AM at ST. MARGUERITE D’YOUVILLE PARISH, St. Theresa’s Church, Dracut. Burial in the Oakland Cemetery, Dracut.
