Obituary

WORCESTER___Vera B. (Kapurch) Taylor, 91, formerly of Jefferson and Worcester, died Friday Nov. 28, 2008 in Blaire House, 116 Houghton St. Her husband of 54 years, Alphonse Taylor died in 1994.

She leaves a daughter, Eileen M. Gibney of Worcester; a brother, Joseph Kapurch of Annapolis, MD., a sister, Adele Parulis of South Dennis; three grandchildren, Anne Gibney of Jefferson; Mary F. Gibney of South Yarmouth and Richard W. Gibney, III of Sterling; three great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother and two sisters, Ignace Kapurch, Alice Spaulding and Mary Sherwood. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Joseph and Mary (Checenuite) Kapurch.

Mrs. Kapurch was a Licensed Practical Nurse 25 years working in Obstetrics & Gynecology at St. Vincent Hospital. She retired in 1976. Vera was a member of St. Casimir Church. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and the LPN program at David Hale Fanning Trade School.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 2 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. John Church, 40 Temple Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 2 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blaire House Activity Fund, 116 Houghton Street, Worcester, Ma., 01604 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
