Walter G. Koontz, 82, of Windham, NH died Saturday November 29,2008 in Derry, NH. Mr. Koontz was born in Staten Island, NY on August 24, 1926, son of the late Sam Hans and Sarah M. (Bratton) Koontz. Walter was in the US Navy during WWII while attending Dartmouth College, where he graduated in 1946. He worked in advertising sales for several magazines in New York and Atlanta. He was a former resident of Newburyport, MA, Wilton, CT, Atlanta, GA and NYC, NY before moving to Windham five years ago.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jane Meredith Koontz of Windham, three daughters, Cindy Demme and her husband Ken of Bradenton, FL, Margaret Linnell of Berwick, ME, Elizabeth Koontz and her husband Shepard Johnson of Andover, MA, his son, Walter G. Koontz, Jr. and his wife Linda of Irvine, CA, three grandchildren, Jay Wallace and Leslie Wallace both of Atlanta, GA, Abigail Johnson of Andover, MA, also several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, the family will hold private memorial services.
