Marie D. Tuttle, 85, of Summerville, widow of Fred B. Tuttle, died Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Life Care Center of Charleston.
Funeral service will be held Monday, December 1, 2008 at 2 o’clock at Summerville Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, Summerville.
Friends may call at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville from 6 until 8 o’clock Sunday evening.

Mrs. Tuttle was born February 14, 1923 in Dorchester County, daughter of the late Dannie Gideon Dalton and Della Johnson Dalton. She attended Berkeley County Schools. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and fishing. She was a spectator at her grandchildren’s sporting events and the sporting events at Summerville High School. She retired from Summerville Laundry Service as secretary. She was a member of Summerville Baptist Church.
Surviving are:
2 daughters: Cynthia ‘Cindy” Moore and her husband Gerald “Gerry” of Summerville and Debbie T. Gibbons and her husband Wayne of Summerville.
4 grandchildren: Wendy M. Miller of Ladson, Michele M. Barnhill of Summerville, Shawn C. Gibbons of Summerville and Corey M. Gibbons of Chicago, Illinois.
6 great grandchildren: Jared A. Barnhill, Ryan C. Miller, Sarah E. Barnhill, Hunter L. Barnhill, Isabella M. Gibbons and Danielle N. Miller.
1 brother: Heyward Dalton of North Charleston
