Dartmouth - Mary (Correia) Vieira, age 89, died Thursday, November 28, 2008 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Louis M. Vieira of S. Dartmouth. Mrs. Vieira was the mother of Gilbert Vieira of New Bedford and Joseph Vieira of Dartmouth. She was the sister of Isolina DeCosta of New Bedford, Sizaltina Melo of Canada and the late Yvonne Isadore and Deolinda Rezendes. Mrs. Vieira was the grandmother Jeffrey, Paul, Lisa and Kevin Vieira and the great-grandmother of Owen and Alex Vieira. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Vieira was the daughter of the late Manuel and Isabel (Baptista) Correia. She was born in Taunton Ma. and lived in this area since 1947. She was formerly a stitcher at Vanessa Sportswear.
Mrs. Vieira Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home Monday at 8:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, South Dartmouth at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday evening from 5 - 8 P.M. at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
