Obituary

Adelaide M. Jackson, 91, passed away at the Seacoast Nursing Center in Gloucester on November 24th, 2008. She was born in Cambridge on December 30th to her parents Homer C. and M. Gertrude (Babson) Jackson. Adelaide has been a resident of Medford for most of her life. For over twenty years she worked as a secretary at the Simplex Wire and Cable Company. After leaving Simplex, she began a career as a secretary for the City of Boston, retiring after more than 15 years of service. She is survived by her siblings, Ethel F. Jackson and Helen L. Gordon of Medford and E. Richard Jackson of Burlington. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Along with her parents, Adelaide was predeceased by her siblings Gertrude A. “Jackie” Jackson, Robert Jackson, Homer C. Jackson Jr. and Patricia Brown. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden at Medford line on Saturday November 29th at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the Mass on Saturday only. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, MA 02155.
