Thomas J. Vadala, age 85 of Medford formerly of Boston's West End, died November 25th at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading following a short illness. He was the beloved husband of Constance (Luongo). Born in Boston's West End he was the son of the late Josephine (DiBlasi) and Joseph Vadala.
Tom worked for more than forty years as a truck driver and was a member of the Teamsters Union local 25. He was very handy man and enjoyed carpentry and also enjoyed the arts. He was an avid painter and loved writing poetry. Tom also proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of WWII. Mostly devoted to his loving family he looked forward to spending time with his children and grandchildren who will greatly miss him.
In addition to his late parents, Mr. Vadala is predeceased by his son, the late Thomas V. Vadala. He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife Constance (Luongo) and their children, son Joseph J. Vadala and his wife Karen of Windham, NH, and daughter, Donna Vadala of Woburn. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Suzanne Vadala of Medford. He was the loving grandfather of David, Tommy, Michael, Anthony and Marianne Vadala and is further survived by his brother, Guy Vadala, of Revere.
His funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Saturday, at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
