Gertrude E. (Davis) O’Neill, 90, died at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Tuesday, November 25. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph T. O’Neill. Daughter of the late Charles F. and Mary J. (McNicholas) Davis, she was born and educated in Boston. She resided in Stoughton for 45 years before living in Middleboro for the past 3 years. Mrs. O’Neill was a housewife. An avid Bingo player, she was also a member of the AMVETS in Roxbury.
Mrs. O’Neill is survived by her children, Joseph T. O’Neill, Jr. of Portsmouth, NH, Francis G. O’Neill and Trudy E. O’Neill both of Middleboro, Richard J. O’Neill of Attleboro and Kathleen M. Marinelli of Stoughton, as well as her brother, Francis Davis of NV. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Kevin O'Neill and 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, December 1 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-6 PM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton. Donations in Gertrude’s name may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Pl.
