Robert Howard Alley, 80, Port Royal, died Monday, November 24, 2008, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Port Royal United Methodist Church with Rev. John Casey and Brother Michael R. Guertin officiating. Burial will be in Port Royal United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service Wednesday at the church. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born October 3, 1928 in Port Royal, TN. son of the late Robert M. Alley and Mary Charity Smith Alley. He was a life long farmer and was a member of Port Royal United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Ann Evans Alley, sons William R. Alley and James E. Alley (Melody), all of Port Royal, TN; a sister Mary Alley Weakley (Richard); three grandchildren, Charity Alley Nuckolls (David), James Evans Alley, II, and John Loyd Alley; and two great-grandchidren, David Tyler Nuckolls and William Richard Nuckolls. Pallbearers will be David Nuckolls, Evan Alley, John Alley, Benny Weakley, Vernon Weakley, and Charity Nuckolls.
