Richard E. Anderson 89, of New Pond Village Walpole formerly of Needham died on Thursday April 24th at the Medway Country Manor in Medway. Born in Jamaica Plain Mr. Anderson Served with the U.S. Army during WWII. After the War Richard went to work for John Hancock Insurance Company in the tax department for over 30 years before his retirement. Richard was a resident of New Pond Village for 10 years and a resident of Needham for 35 before moving to Walpole. He was a member of the West Roxbury Dorchester Lodge AF & AM and a member of the Needham Retired Men’s Glee Club. Richard enjoyed his retirement traveling all over the world with his beloved wife Helen who died in April of 1994. Richard enjoyed gardening and working on model ships. Richard is the father of Heather and her husband Paul Crisafulli of Medway and Roger K. Burke of Delaware. Grandfather of Paul F. Crisafulli, Kenneth J. Crisafulli and Paul and Michelle Burke. Richard is also survived by his 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services at the First Baptist Church 858 Great Plain Ave. Needham on Tuesday April 29th at 2:00 PM. Interment services at the National Cemetery in Bourne will be private. In lieu of flowers may be made to Alzheimer’s Assc. 36 Cameron Ave. Cambridge MA 02140-1102.
