Limuel McDonald "L. M." Yarbrough, Sr., 76, of Tifton died Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2008, at Liberty Baptist Church. Rev. Glenn Ford and Rev. Steve Tucker will officiate with burial to follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Dale Yarbrough, Bo Yarbrough, David Stinson Jr., Jim McAllister, Scott Yarbrough and Chad Morris will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 21, 2008, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Yarbrough was born on March 2, 1932 in Ashburn and was the son of Robert Yarbrough and Ola Guy Yarbrough, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Erma Jean McAllister Yarbrough, who died in 1994; one sister, Faustine Barker; and one brother-in-law, Loyd Weeks. He was a retired police officer with the Albany Police Department for 30 years, a former Jaycee, and served in the United States Army in Germany during World War II.
Mr. Yarbrough is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Barbara White of Albany, and Limuel McDonald "Len" and Cindy Yarbrough of Kennesaw; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kathy Ridley and Richard Ehrenfelt of Panama City Beach, Florida, and Dianne Bragg of Panama City Beach, Florida; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Voleta Yarbrough of Moultrie, R. A. and Sherry Yarbrough of Moultrie, and David and Vickie Yarbrough of Moultrie; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Bobbie and Robert Chapman of Moultrie, Jackie Weeks of Sparks, Deborah and Gary Sellers of Leesburg, Peggy and Troy Tyson of Moultrie, and Doris and Wynton Stripling of Moultrie; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
