Obituary

WORCESTER___Irene S. (Ouellette) Aiello, 90, of Worcester, died on Sunday, November 16, 2008, surrounded by her family. Her husband of 49 years, Attorney Nicholas S. Aiello, died in 1992.

She leaves 4 children, Robert N. Aiello, of Worcester; Dianne I. Muzzy and her husband, Stephen E. Muzzy, of Millbury; Susan P. Pelletier, of Dudley and Dennis J. Aiello and his wife, Virginia “Ginnie” M. (McCormick) Aiello, of West Boylston; a brother, John N. Ouellette, of Grafton; 3 grandchildren, Stephanie A. (Muzzy) Fontaine and her husband, Rene G. Fontaine, of Sutton; Joshua D. Pelletier and Jonathan H. Pelletier, of Dudley; 2 great-grandchildren, Josée R. Fontaine and Matthew Nicholas Fontaine, of Sutton; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her sister, Edna L. Beaudoin of Worcester and by two grandsons, Joseph P. and Daniel J. Aiello, of West Boylston. Irene was born in Worcester on September 2, 1918, a daughter of the late John Ouellette and Florina M. (Moreau) Ouellette, and lived in Worcester for most of her life. She graduated from St. Joseph School and Commerce High School, both in Worcester.

Irene worked many years ago at Graton & Knight Co., formerly of Worcester. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Parish, now Holy Family Parish in Worcester where she had been a longtime member of the Ladies of St. Anne. She used to enjoy summers at her Cape Cod home in So. Yarmouth and winters in Florida. She also liked going to bingo and playing cards with her church friends.

Her funeral will be Wednesday, November 19, from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., Worcester, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Church - Holy Family Parish, 35 Hamilton St., Worcester. After the Mass, she will be laid to rest in the mausoleum at Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster St., Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Tuesday, November 18, from 5 to 8 PM and one hour at the funeral home before her Mass on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the St. Joseph Renovation Fund, 5 Whitman Rd., Worcester, MA 01609 or to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
