Obituary

Carl G. Anderson, 95 of Medford, died Wednesday in the Melrose/Wakefield Hospital. He was the son of the late Andrew and the late Amanda Anderson.

Mr. Anderson lived in Medford most of his life. He was born in Sweden and moved to Chicago at an early age. In the twenties and thirties he played in the Big Bands as lead clarinet and saxophone player with such bands as Tommy Dorsey and Lawrence Welk. Later he married and lived in Medford where he worked for Necco Candy Co. for a short time. He joined the Merchant Marines and retired after 30 years of service. He just recently had his Ninety fifth birthday and was presented the key to the city by Mayor McGlynn. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association.

He leaves his wife of many years Josephine A. (Falco). Three loving children Anne Spence of Barre, Andrew Anderson of Danvers, and Elizabeth Holbrook of Derry, NH. Also survived by eight loving grandchildren, one great grandchild, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services are Private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in CarlĀ“s memory to The Salvation Army, 147 Berkley St. Boston, MA. 02118. Arrangements by Dello Russo Funeral Home, Medford.
