Obituary

Ann “Anya” (Kagan) Kornhauser of Everett and formerly of Peabody and Delray Beach, FL died on November 12, 2008. Ann was the beloved wife of the late Jack Kornhauser.

Ann was born in Ostrog, Poland and educated in Poland. She volunteered at The Holocaust Center in Peabody, MA and often spoke about her experiences in the Holocaust. She often spoke about the righteous gentiles in Poland who saved her life. Ann was also a very proud member and former president of Hadassah.

Ann was the devoted mother of Leon Kornhauser and his wife Bettina, and Mark Kornhauser and his wife Sue. She was the loving daughter of Jacob & Pearl Kagan who perished in the Holocaust in 1942. Ann was the loving sister of the late Lazar who died in the Holocaust, Mendel, and Kayla. Ann was the loving grandmother of Rachel, Michelle, Laura, & Adam and loving great grandmother of Jack L. Dellilis.

Services at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave. (Cary Sq.) Chelsea on Friday, November 14 at 1:00 PM. Interment in Everett. Rabbi Nehemia Polen will officiate. Memorial observance at the home of Leon & Bettina Kornhauser on Friday following interment and Saturday after sundown.
