Obituary

WORCESTER - Mr. Eli David Kalil, 83, passed away November 8th at his home surrounded by his family.


He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Mrs. Marie A. (Troio) Kalil of Worcester, two sons, David Kalil and his wife Zeli of Worcester, Michael Kalil and his wife Christine of Brookfield; a brother, George “Jimmy” Kalil of Worcester; two sisters, Mary Rizk and her husband William , Janet Mathews and her husband Frank all of Worcester; two grandchildren, Jessica and Michael Kalil.

Eli was pre-deceased by his sister, Alice Haffty and his brother in law, Eli Haffty.

He was born August 22, 1925 in Worcester, Ma. a son of the late David and Wageha(Haddad) Kalil.

A lifelong resident of Worcester he was educated through the Worcester schools. He served his country during the Korean War in the Army.

Eli worked for many years at Table Talk Pie up until its closing and later went on to work at Umass University Hospital up until his retirement.

He had a love for sports, he loved his Yankees, going to the Casino, playing scratch tickets, and coaching youth baseball.

His funeral will be held Wednesday November 12th from FAZIO FUNERAL HOME, 9 Branch St. Worcester with a Funeral service at St George Orthodox Cathedral Church, at 10AM. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the St George Orthodox Cathedral Church 30 Anna St Worcester, Ma. 01605. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park Cemetery, Paxton. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5pm to 8pm.. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Louis M. Fazio Jr. and Louis M.
