Obituary

Williamsburg, Virginia – Dora Ethel (Wagoner) Obst, 79, died peacefully Friday, November 7th, at her home at Dominion Village Assisted Living Facility in Williamsburg, Virginia, with her daughter Cathy at her side.

Dora grew up on her family’s farm in Pyrmont, Indiana and attended Rossville High School, where she was valedictorian. She was an accomplished flutist and attended Jordan Conservatory of music in Indianapolis as a flute major. After her marriage to Dr. Wilfrid H. Obst, she moved to Lawrence where she was the office manager and technical assistant for her husband’s chiropractic practice. Dora was a loving person who impressed all who knew her with her kind, gentle and generous nature. She loved cooking, camping and hiking with her family and shared with Wilfrid a great affection for their adopted family of felines.

Dora leaves her two daughters: Catherine L. Millar and her husband John of Williamsburg, VA and Elizabeth M. Truebenbach and her husband Eric of Sudbury, MA; grandchildren: Ian Millar and Alexandra and Katrina Truebenbach; sister Helen Sheets of Westpoint, Indiana. Dora was predeceased by her husband of 56 years and by sisters Myrtle and Ruth and brother Paul.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 2-5 P.M. and 7-9 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.

Funeral Services will take place on Thursday morning at 10 o’clock at the funeral home with burial to follow in Bellevue Cemetery of Lawrence.
