Mavis A. (Wright) Jones, died on April 20, 2003 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. She was 82 years old.She was born in Boone, Iowa on November 13, 1920, a daughter of the late Ralph and Cora (McGehee) Wright).A resident of Medford for over 40 years, Mavis was a communicant of the First Baptist Church in Medford and employed as a manager for the Grant & Lerner Retail Clothing shops for 30 years.She is the beloved wife of the late Richard D. Jones. Loving mother of Sandra J. Merrill of Somerville. Cherished grandmother of Lynn Harrington of Salem and Bert Merrill of Blackstone. Dear great-grandmother of Michael, Sean, Brandan and Molly O’Reagan, all of Somerville and Chloe and Declan Harrington, both of Salem.Her funeral service will be celebrated in the First Baptist Church, 37 Oakland Street, Medford, Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m.
