Weldon L. Moland, died April 17, 2003 at the VA Medical Center in West Roxbury. He was 91 years old. Weldon was the beloved husband of Helen (Thomas) Moland of Medford for 63 years.He was born in Cambridge on December 17, 1911, and raised in Caledonia, Nova Scotia, a son of the late George H. and Harriet E. (Loveless) Moland. Mr. Moland was the retired co-owner of Dimond & Moland, antique furniture restorers of Arlington for thirty years. He was a U.S. Marine and disabled Veteran in the Pacific in World War II. He was active in the Disabled American Veterans 21 in Medford and the VFW in Raymond, NH. He had spent 25 of his later years volunteering at the Chelsea Soldiers Home in Massachusetts.He was past president of the Woburn Sportsman Club and was an avid fisherman and hunter. In his early years he was a semi-pro baseball pitcher.He is survived by his beloved wife Helen, his sons, Stephen Moland and his wife Judi of Litchfield, NH and Richard Moland of Nottingham, NH, three grandchildren Mark Moland of Londonderry, NH, Laurie Renke of Londonderry, NH, and Tracy Hines of Kingston, NH. He also was the cherished great grandfather of seven; Derek Hines, Samantha, Sydney, Spencer, & Shelby Moland, Max and Jack Renke.A memorial service will be held at a later date.
