Joseph L. Zahar , of Chelsea, formerly of Wilmington, died, suddenly, at his Chelsea home. He was 62.
Mr. Zahar was born and raised in Somerville, son of the late Thomas and the late Dorothy (Bardhi) Zahar. As a boy, Joseph served the altar at Saint George Albanian Orthodox Cathedral under Bishop Fan S. Noli. As a young man Joseph served in the United States Air Force Reserve. He graduated Wentworth Institute. Mr. Zahar owned and operated Pontiac Pest Control, Chelsea.
He is survived by his sons Stephen D. Zahar of Salem and Mark Zahar of Lynnfield. He leaves his two grandchildren: Matthew And Jillian, a sister, Tina Poist of Westford and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may visit Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
A funeral service will be held at Saint George Cathedral, 523 East Broadway, South Boston, Thursday at 10 AM.
Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
