Albert L. Johnson, 80

Worcester—Albert L. Johnson, 80, formerly of 2 Laselle Avenue, died Saturday, April 19, in UMass Memorial Healthcare—University Campus.

He leaves a daughter, Sharon A. Handy of Worcester; two brothers, Stanley R. Johnson of Oxford and Warren R. Johnson of Phoenix; 4 sisters, Irene M. Angermann of Worcester, Ethel N. Glidden and Madeline M. Johnson of Auburn, and Barbara Smith of Boylston; 5 grandchildren, nephews and nieces. A daughter, Eileen M. Lloyd-Paine died in 1997. He was also predeceased by 3 brothers, Raymond E. Johnson, Edward R. Johnson, and Herbert Johnson. He was born in Worcester, son of Carl L. and Mary E. (Parmenter) Johnson. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School and was an Army veteran of WWII.

Mr. Johnson was a toolmaker at Worcester Taper Pin, Worcester, for over 20 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church and West Boylston Post VFW #6907.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 23, from Nordgren Memorial Chapel, (NordgrenMemorialChapel.com) 300 Lincoln St., with a mass at St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St., at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 710 West 168th St., New York, NY 10032-9982.
