Luder J. Judy, Sr., 86, widower of Ruby Patricia Judy, of Moncks Corner, formerly of Ladson and Branchville passed away Thursday, November 6, 2008 at his residence after a long battle with cancer.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, November 9, 2008 at 1 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o’clock Saturday evening.

Mr. Judy was born June 3, 1922 in Dorchester, son of the late Andrew and Mary Litchfield Judy. He was a member of Hunters Chapel Baptist Church in Branchville, SC. He was a watch repair jeweler for many years in Summerville, Moncks Corner and Goose Creek. He was a Mason, a Shriner and a member of the American Legion Lodge in Summerville. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a decorated World War II Veteran receiving the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, American Theater Service Ribbon and the Pacific Theater Service Medal.
He is survived by
3 sons: Donald Judy, Sr. of Moncks Corner, Ronald Judy, Sr. of Branchville and MSgt L.J. Judy, Jr. T.D.Y, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
7 grandchildren: Ronald Judy, Jr. of Walterboro, Jeff Judy of Bamberg, Tina Horne of Summerville, Jennifer Reynolds of Moncks Corner, Kelly Lawrence of Summerville, Rusty Judy of Summerville and Candy Tisdale of Summerville.
20 great grandchildren
He was predeceased by his grandson, Donald Judy, Jr and 4 brothers, Perry, James, Cantus and Charles.
