Obituary

Belmont-Exzelia Aurore Vallee, 91, of 25 Randlett Street, formerly of Union Avenue in Lakeport died Thursday morning, November 6, 2008 at Genesis Healthcare, Laconia Center after a period of declining health.

Exzelia was born on February 8, 1917 in Wolfeboro, the daughter of the late Peter and Amanda (Bouchard) Grenier. She was a lifelong resident of the Lakes Region.

Prior to her retirement, Exzelia was employed by the former Laconia Shoe Company and Allen-Rogers. A big fan of Elvis, she especially enjoyed listening to his gospel recordings.

Exzelia was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church in Lakeport.

Exzelia is predeceased by her husband Aldee W. Vallee in 1989. The last surviving of nine children, she is also predeceased by her four brothers and four sisters.

Exzelia is survived by a son, Richard A. Vallee of Northfield; a daughter, Arlene A. Lassonde and her husband Roy of Penacook; four grandchildren Tina Bushway, Marc Lassonde, David and Duane Vallee. Seven great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews also survive Exzelia.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, November 10, 2008 at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Laconia (Lakeport) at 11:00 a.m. Rev. George J. Soberick pastor of the church celebrated the mass. Burial followed in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia. A visiting hour preceded the mass from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia.
