William Genes "Bill" Norman, 72, of Tifton passed away Saturday, September 17, 2005, at his residence. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2005, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Leonard Conger officiating. Mr. Norman was laid to rest at Lawrence Cemetery.
Bob Welch, Dewayn Norman, Johnny Welch, Joe Salter, Jr., Kenny Eaton, Jr., and Jamie Goddard served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Chad Norman and Kevin Welch.
Born August 2, 1933, in Tift County, Mr. Norman was the son of the late J. T. Norman, Sr. and Alberty Thrift Norman. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Laverne N. Welch. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Norman is survived by two brothers, James Edgar Norman of Tifton and J. T. Norman, Jr. of Bath, South Carolina; and one brother-in-law, Robert W. Welch of Tifton.
