Obituary

Mrs. Panagiota "Penny" (Arvanites) Anastasopoulos, age 86, passed away Wednesday November 5th surrounded by her family at the Palm Manor Nursing Home.
She was born February 22, 1922 in Lowell, Massachusetts a daughter of the late Nicholas and Bessie (Stamatopoulos) Arvanites. She was the wife of the late Demetrios Anastasopoulos who died in 1988
Mrs. Anastasopoulos was a longtime resident of Dracut and Lowell and had also resided in Plum Island from 1976 - 1989. Penny enjoyed her role as homemaker loving to cook and spend time with her family. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Lowell.
She is survived by a daughter and son in law, Joanne and Richard Kaminski, of Lowell; a son and daughter -in-law, Stephen and Laurie Anastasopoulos, of Lowell; one brother John Arvanites of N. Reading; two sisters-in-law, Pat Arvanites, of Newburyport, and Ann Arvanites, of Lowell ; five grandchildren, Nicole Kaminski, John Kaminski, Tanya Kaminski, Jamie Anastasopoulos and Christopher Anastasopoulos; also many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late, Arthur "Duke" Arvanites, George Arvanites, Helen Plantamura and Millie Aceto , sister in law to the late Mary Arvanites, and the aunt of the late Catherine Loiacono.
Relatives and friends will be received at the M.R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Friday from 4 to 8 PM. Her funeral will take place from the Funeral Home on Saturday at 9am with a funeral service to be held the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at 10am. Interment to follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Allegiance Hospice, 67 Middle St. Suite 503 Lowell, Ma. 01852.
