WORCESTER-Effie (Misopoulou) Papalilo, formerly of 425 Pleasant Street died Sunday, April 20th in Holy Trinity Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. Her husband, Arthur Papalilo died in 1973. She leaves 2 sisters, Mary Buyukkostantin of Worcester and Georgia Telyan of Yonkers, NY; many nephews and nieces including, Efrosini Sue Kika of Worcester, Dimitri Kika of Green Brook, NJ, Charles Constantin of Paxton, Norayr Telyan of N. Caldwell, NJ and Hermon Telyan of Wilton, CT. A sister Vasiliki Kika predeceased her.
She was born in Istanbul, Turkey the daughter of Lazaros and Sofia (Tole) Misopoulou and moved to Worcester in 1969. She attended school in Istanbul, Turkey. Mrs. Papalilo worked for Millbrook Distributing for many years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and a member of its retiree’s club.
The funeral will be Wednesday, April 23rd from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 11:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, April 22nd from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
