LAWRENCE - Michael P. Amorella, age 45, a former Tewksbury resident, died Tuesday, November 4, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness.
He was born in Everett, MA, on February 6, 1963, a son of Peter and Patricia (Masiello) Amorella of Tewksbury. He was raised in Tewksbury, and graduated T.M.H.S. with the Class of 1980. He went on to receive a Bachelors Degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Northeastern University.
He began his career with Wang Laboratories , and worked at MITRE and Northrop-Grumman, before joining Alcatel-Lucent in Westford, where he was currently employed as a Project Manager.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his fiance, Donna L. (DeJongh) Gale of Lawrence; a son, Christopher M. Amorella of Cumberland, RI; a daughter, Alyssa H.P. Amorella of Cumberland RI; two sisters, Lisa Paulitzky and her husband William of Winchendon, and Michelle Moore and her husband David of Hudson, NH; a brother, Patrick Amorella and his wife Allison (Mauti) of So. Lawrence; his paternal grandmother, Alda "Dottie" Amorella of Methuen, formerly Chelsea; his former wife, Nancy H, Harding of Cumberland, RI; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, Nov. 8, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Burial followed in St. Mary Cemetery, No. Tewksbury. Memorials to the Shriners Hospital - Burn Care Unit, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial Program, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-1942 will be appreciated.
