Obituary

Daniel J. Fay, Sr. 64 years, of South Boston, died November 3, 2008 at St. Joseph Manor, Brockton, after a brief illness. Born in Boston, raised in Jamaica Plain, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary A. (Sullivan) Fay. Dan was a graduate of Boston Latin High School and also attended Suffolk and Northeastern Universities. He had been a proud member of the Massachusetts National Guard and Reserves, was employed for 28 years with the Raytheon Company in Waltham and was an avid Boston sports fan.

He is survived by a son Daniel J. Fay, Jr. and his wife Kelley of Cranford, NJ and a loving daughter Maura (Olcott) Mansfield and her husband Paul of Brockton. Mr. Fay was especially proud of his four wonderful grandchildren, Daniel McMenamy “Mac” and Delaney Catherine Fay of Cranford, NJ and Christopher Michael Olcott and Caitlin Grace Mansfield of Brockton; his dear aunt Eleanor Fay of Dedham; an uncle John Fay of Jamaica Plain, several cousins and his former wife and friend Kathleen (McMenamy) Avery of Brockton.

Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 8am. Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Parish/St. Edward Church at 9am. Burial will be held at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held Thursday 5-8pm. Donations may be made in Dan’s name to Beacon Hospice, 529 Main Street Ste 101, Charlestown, MA 02129.
